What does Peace Kawomera mean to you?
The cooperative has improved on coffee sales compared to the past.
What was life like before Peace Kawomera?
Life before was hard. We would carry the coffee to town a long distance and by the time we got to town the buyers weren’t happy. They would tell us that this was wrong or this wasn’t right, and therefore they wouldn’t pay us what was just. The buyers in town would always cheat us.
What has been the greatest change in your life since joining Peace Kawomera?
It is easy to get money for your coffee from Peace Kawomera so it solves many problems.
What does Fair Trade mean to you?
The bonus assists in paying school fees for my children and uniforms, books/stationary too.
What are your hopes for the future?
Since I trust Peace Kawomera, I hope to bring coffee for 3 seasons and have the cooperative hold onto my money. Afterwards, I want to receive a lump sum to pay for something big.
